Grants & Funding Opportunities | January 2022
Happy New Year!
We begin the year with the current and upcoming opportunities in grants and funding as assembled by ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development. This month we highlight the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). We continue to share information about additional funding opportunities that may be relevant to your needs throughout the year.
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) provides $350 billion in highly flexible direct allocations for state, local, and territorial governments, focusing on use for critical infrastructure. Georgia and its cities and counties will receive $4.853 billion of that $350 billion by direct allocation. Half of that funding was previously distributed, and the remaining half will be disbursed in May. The goal of these funds is to make your community whole and help stimulate the economy through spending on infrastructure, innovation, and government service.
Current opportunities for funding available through ARPA are listed below.
- Economic Adjustment Assistance – ARPA
- AmeriCorps Seniors – American Rescue Plan Senior Demonstration Program (SDP)
- Competitive Tourism Grants – ARPA
- Good Jobs Challenge – ARPA
- Enhanced Air Quality Monitoring for Communities – ARPA
Additional funding opportunities will be made available in the coming months, particularly in the realm of infrastructure. For more information about ARPA funds, please see ECG’s previous communication about this important topic.
