Georgia’s winning streak with automotive suppliers continues.
Georgia has effectively used its centralized location among Southeastern automotive OEMs to recruit a wide-array of small to mid-sized part suppliers. From BMW to the east, Volkswagen to the north, and Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and Kia to the west, these European and Asian suppliers represent a significant amount of the new manufacturing base being built in our state.

2017 ECG | MEAG Power Economic Development Bus Tour
August 29-30, 2017 the Economic Development Bus Tour traveled through west Georgia visiting eight ECG communities. We will visit College Park, East Point, Fairburn, Grantville, Hogansville, LaGrange, Newnan and West Point.
Bus tours are provided each year to highlight our communities and available properties. Representatives from ECG, MEAG Power, State of Georgia Economic Development, Department of Community Affairs, Georgia Municipal Association and others participate in the tour to become more familiar with the community and its individual qualities. The tour offers each community a great opportunity to showcase its many attributes and pro-economic development atmosphere.

2017 ECG Economic Development Summit
Each year the ECG Economic Development Summit offers the opportunity to discuss and learn from experts regarding economic development strategies and tactics. The 2017 Summit brought together elected officials, city leadership, statewide agencies and local economic developers to hear from leading site selection consultants, local experts and respected professionals.

Protein Plus expanding in Fitzgerald, Georgia
March 29, 2017 – Protein Plus is adding a new production facility and over the next few years, 30 new jobs. Jason Dunn, Executive Director with Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Development Authority said, “The Protein Plus expansion is further proof that Fitzgerald and Ben Hill County is a place where value added agricultural products can be produced competitively. What better news can a community have than hearing one of their local industries is expanding? We are excited to see what the future holds for them as they grow their product line and employment.”

Farmax Merchandise coming to Cordele-Crisp County, Georgia
March 20, 2017 – ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development is thrilled to announce Farmax Merchandise will bring more than 20 new jobs and invest $5 million in Cordele-Crisp County. Farmax, a China-based peanut production and exporting enterprise, is opening a new peanut oil processing facility. The company serves customers in the U.S., EU, Canada, Southeast Asia, Russia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
“Cordele and Crisp County are excited to welcome Farmax as the community’s first China-based manufacturer,” said Zack Wade, chairman of the Crisp County-Cordele Industrial Development Authority. “The company will be a great fit for our community because it will consume large amounts of peanuts—one of our most abundant local cash crops.”
