Retail-Commercial Development
Daniel is the Manager of Retail-Commercial Development with ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development. Daniel is responsible for recruiting retail and commercial businesses to ECG communities. In his role, Daniel works closely with the ECG members and their stakeholders to assist them in identifying community retail demands utilizing market research, community input, and site evaluation assistance with a mutual goal of bringing retail development to ECG member communities. He has a demonstrated track record of building relationships with national tenants, landlords and real estate brokers.
Prior to joining ECG, Daniel served as Director of Economic Development for Georgia Mountains Regional Commission. Additionally, he has held management roles with Kite Realty Group (KRG-NYSE) and Victory Real Estate Investments both of which focused on the development of anchored shopping centers across the U.S. His past commercial real estate experience spans leasing and sales engagements throughout the Southeast, covering 12 states. Daniel has successfully secured deals with retailers such as Aldi, Hibbett Sports, Pet Supermarket, T-Mobile, and Waffle House, among others. He began his career in Southeast Alabama, serving in Economic Development roles for two different communities.
Daniel is a native of South Alabama and holds a BA in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, both from Auburn University. He is also a graduate from the inaugural class of the Appalachian Leadership Institute. Daniel enjoys spending time outdoors, attempting to cook, college football and running.
